Christmas at Kew is a magical winter experience at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, featuring a dazzling light trail, festive food and drink, and a variety of family-friendly activities. The event is now in its 10th year and is one of the most popular Christmas attractions in London.

Light trail

The light trail is the highlight of Christmas at Kew and it was more impressive than ever. The trail featured a variety of stunning installations, including:

  • Pixel Tree: A giant Christmas tree with ever-changing digital projections.
  • Liquid Dreams: A mesmerizing water and light display set to music.
  • Fire Garden: A fiery and atmospheric tableau of dancing flames.
  • Frost Tree: A towering tree illuminated in gold and white.
  • Palm House Projection: A stunning light show projected onto the iconic Palm House.

The light trail was also dotted with a variety of other installations, including tunnels of light, giant baubles, and festive characters. The entire trail was beautifully curated and provided a wonderful winter wonderland experience.

Food and drink

There were a variety of food and drink stalls throughout the light trail, offering a range of festive treats, including mulled wine, hot chocolate, mince pies, and churros. There was also a Freixenet Winter Terrace where visitors could enjoy a glass of sparkling wine under the stars.

Activities

In addition to the light trail, Christmas at Kew also featured a variety of family-friendly activities, including:

  • Santa’s Grotto: Children could meet Santa Claus
  • Fairground rides: A selection of fairground rides for children of all ages.

Christmas at Kew 2022 was a truly magical experience. The light trail was stunning and the festive atmosphere was infectious. There was something for everyone at the event, from the children’s activities to the food and drink stalls. I highly recommend Christmas at Kew to anyone looking for a festive and unforgettable winter experience.
