Featuring over 100 artworks from artists from Britain, its former colonies and beyond. Entangled Pasts examines how art has been used to represent and justify empire, as well as to challenge and resist it.

The exhibition features a diverse range of artists and artworks, offering a variety of perspectives on colonialism and its legacies. It explores the ongoing impact of colonialism on societies and cultures around the world.

Experience large-scale works including the life-size painted cut-out figures of Lubaina Himid’s installation Naming the Money, and Hew Locke’s Armada, a flotilla of ‘votive boats’ recalling different periods and places.

Entangled Pasts officially opens today and is a must see. Please note, this exhibition contains themes of slavery and racism, and historical racial language and imagery.
